Soil Zoning

Soil Zoning

Soil type is one of the main causes of repeatable crop variation within fields. Differences in soil texture, depth, stone content and organic matter all influence crop performance.

By dividing the field into separate soil management zones, this variation can be managed through variable rate applications.

We always begin our zoning process by sitting down with you, to get your valuable input on where you feel the soil variation is.

We also gather information from soil surveys, geology maps, satellite imagery and any precision farming data you may have to aid us in the zoning process.
